Plaintiffs Order of Arrest in Civil Proceedings
In certain civil proceedings, an arrest can be ordered before a judgment is rendered if it is shown that the defendant is hiding, concealing, or secretly selling assets to hide them from the creditors or the court. A bond is required to be posted by the plaintiff to cover all costs and expenses that occur if the arrest is found later to be wrongful. This is a guarantee that if the court finds against the plaintiff later that the arrest was warranted, the judgment will be paid.
